SyFy's David Howe Speaks Out on "Jim Henson's Creature Shop Challenge" Cancellation

From the Hollywood Reporter

At this years Television Critics Association's Winter Press tour held in Pasadena, California, Dave Howe, Executive President of Syfy Channel had this to say when asked what was the hardest show for him to cancel this past season.

This was his response :

"Jim Henson's Creature Shop Challenge, it was a fantastic show and the ratings were good, but it was too expensive to be sustainable."

Do you agree?

If not, let David Howe, Syfy and NBC Universal know how you feel about its cancellation after only one season.

Send a letter to:

  3. A petition wouldn't be a bad idea. Historically, it's brought other shows back from the dead.

  4. Emailing him as we speak. It only takes a minute of your time and I think is very worth the wee effort!

  6. This show is a catalyst for the bright and imaginative minds of the millions of young adults that grew up up with the Muppets and Sesame Street. Creature Show would allow them to show off their talents and encourage thousands more to use their imagination. Please reconsider and find a way to restructure the show in order to save money but to continue to produce it. It will make more Monet in the end and a great service to talented people to be discovered.

  12. Cancelling this show was the worst thing Syfy has done since ripping off my pitch for Red: Werewolf Hunter.

  13. I am sad, without this show I have no reason to live. Jim hensons Creature shop challenge was the only show I would be so happy to get home and stay up to watch. Since syfy cancelled this show I have stuck around for face off and some other shows. But it's not the same... I am only a joyless shell of a person without this show.I want them to please consider a renewal, I am praying 24/7 on my knees for this show. My best wishes - Sorelle

  14. I loved watching this and have watched it numerous times since it was aired on SYFY online. I always thought it was a one-time-deal to find a new member for the Creature Shop. It has been 8 years so a follow up of the contestants would be an interesting one- hour special. I know I would watch.
