Fall TV’s Winners and Losers; "The Muppets" Holding Strong

From The Wrap

“Quantico” and “The Muppets” are holding strong, while “The Player” and “Minority Report” struggle one month into the fall season, and NBC’s “Blindspot” is still the commanding No. 1 new series.

The Jaimie Alexander mystery thriller has averaged a 3.6 rating per Nielsen’s “most current” ratings, which includes live-plus-seven-day numbers where available.

“Quantico” is No. 2 on the list, a full ratings point below “Blindspot” in the advertiser-sought 18-49 demographic. Of course, “Blindspot” has a key lead-in in “The Voice,” which is the fourth biggest non-sports series on fall TV. “Quantico” follows fellow newcomer “Blood & Oil,” which ranks 55th.

Next up is “The Muppets,” which has averaged a 2.5 rating to-date. “Heroes: Reborn,” “Life in Pieces,” and “Limitless” tied for fourth place, each with a rounded 2.4 rating.

The cutoff for the below numbers is this past Sunday. The one-week delayed viewing inclusion ended on Oct. 4; all episodes between then and this past weekend are just live-plus-same day. That gives the series that debuted four weeks ago an advantage when it comes to their average, and the most recently opening ones a disadvantage.

Here’s the full ranking of the 18 new broadcast series:

 1. “Blindspot” 3.6
