Move over Joan Rivers, there's a new QVC queen! Us Weekly has exclusively learned that Miss Piggy is plotting to launch her own lifestyle brand on QVC -- and crush her style competition.
In an exclusive interview with Us, the ultra-stylish Muppet confirmed that she will be debuting her celebrity brand, Moi by Miss Piggy, during a March 16 appearance on QVC with her Muppets Most Wanted costars. Miss Piggy already created her "Miss Piggy Haute Tote" -- airing on QVC's "Red Carpet Style -- Live From L.A." event on Friday, Feb. 28 -- but now she wants her own collection too.
"As a world class diva, it's not just a good idea to have your own lifestyle brand -- it's the law," she told Us. "Many people don't realize it, but if you don't turn yourself into an empire, you can lose your diva's license."
In addition to maintaining her diva status, Kermit the Frog's longtime love plans to take the title of "Queen of Shopping" away from Fashion Police host Rivers.
"Moi will be the greatest thing to come to QVC, and I look forward to being the reigning queen of shopping," Miss Piggy told Us. "If Joan Rivers can do it, I can do it better," she added of the Classics Collection designer. "How do you like them apples, Joannie!?"
When asked to confirm Miss Piggy's new brand, QVC, however, was surprised by the news. "Actually, Miss Piggy’s announcement to launch her own lifestyle brand comes as a surprise to us, though a pleasant one," a QVC spokesperson told Us. "We look forward to seeing what happens when Miss Piggy and the Muppets visit QVC on March 16."
