The University of Connecticut Foundation says Jane Henson had donated $100,000 to support the study of puppetry.
Jane Henson, who died last week at age 78, had been a backer of the University of Connecticut's Puppet Arts Program. Her gift will establish a scholarship fund to support students who major in puppet arts.
The UConn Foundation says Henson made the gift shortly before her death.
Bart Roccoberton Jr., director of the Puppet Arts Program, says Jane Henson sent guest artists to the school taught in the program and served on the board of the Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry.
