The Garden Theatre is pleased to announce Heather Henson's IBEX Puppetry Presents: Sing Along with The Muppet Movie will take place at the Garden Theatre on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 3pm and 7pm.
Sing Along with The Muppet Movie provides family-friendly, raucous interactions with the classic, timeless films of Heather's legendary father, Jim Henson. The IBEX Puppetry Sing Along crew brings elements of the films to life for the audience via puppetry, kiting, and shadow acting.
Children and adults alike are urged to yell out famous lines, blow bubbles, dance in the aisles, and of course, sing along with the movies to forge new or renew connections to films from another generation. It's a chance for children to fall in love with the characters already loved by their parents.
Sunny Raskin, choreographer, will host the 3pm performance; director Heather Henson will host the 7pm performance. Davey Rocker will co-host both performances.
Seats are available with the purchase of a $10 goodie bag. Goodie bags are filled with twirl streamers, an ice cream cone shooter, a tiara, hand clappers, glow necklaces, bubble bottles, a butterfly fan, and more for patrons to use throughout the show and then take home.
Goodie bags may be purchased by calling the Garden Theatre Box Office at 407-877-GRDN (4736) x0 or online at gardentheatre.org.
The Muppet Movie is the 1979 classic that represents the feature film roots of the Muppets. It is listed in the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress for being "culturally, historically or aesthetically" significant and will be preserved for all time.
In this Sing Along, IBEX Puppetry leads an audience of cheering, singing fans to renew their "Rainbow Connection" with the fleecy friends who started it all. It's full of interactive surprises and characters coming right out of the screen into the audience.
Heather Henson is a puppet artist, producer, cheerleader and catalyst who enables her communities to discover the wonder of puppetry and helps expose her puppet peers to a broader audience. Backed by a degree from Rhode Island School of Design and studies at CalArts, Heather created IBEX Puppetry, a multi-platform Production Company that serves as an umbrella to honor the creativity in herself and others. With her personal art, Heather strives to incorporate her interests in health and healing for the planet by creating visual poetry. She uses full-sensory storytelling in order to offer audiences a transformative experience.
IBEX Puppetry also nurtures the growth of independent puppet artists on screen, in galleries, and on the stage through the Handmade Puppet Dreams film series, IBEX Presents program, and annual Puppet Slam Network grants.
