Bungling cargo transporters caused trouble for a stage show featuring The Jim Henson Company's Puppet Up characters after sending them to Austria in Europe instead of Australia.
The puppets were due to go on stage at the Princess Theatre as part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
Show organiser Patrick Bristow said: "They were last seen in Vienna, but we don’t know where they are now. Maybe they’re in Budapest or South Africa." The four puppets to go AWOL are part of a show made up of 80 puppets in total. They were being transported separately to the other 76 puppets because they had been held back in the United States for a TV performance.
Bristow says that there are not any doubles for the missing puppets but that even if the four are lost forever to Europe the show can still go on.
