Is the BBC Acquiring The Rights to Air ABC's "The Muppets"?

When it comes to US acquisitions, the UK, next to Canada, has always been a highly competitive market. It is however one of the most important territories in terms of international distribution. 


There has already been signs of the increased competition at last week's LA Screenings for this fall's new TV series.

But perhaps the biggest indicator of this is the early talk that the BBC is eyeing ABC’s "The Muppets" for a possible prime-time slot on Saturday nights. It would be a bold acquisition, but also a costly one, as the seven minute presentation wowed UK Network buyers across the board.
