VIDEO: EXTRA - Kermit Sheds Light on Split with Miss Piggy, Talks New GF

From ExtraTV.com

It’s the celebrity break up no one saw coming. In the past few weeks there’s been a rash of celebrity divorce announcements — from Blake and Miranda to Ben and Jen, to Gwen and Gavin, and most shockingly, to Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy!

Kermit sat down with “Extra’s” Renee Bargh to talk about his new primetime ABC show, “The Muppets,” and opened up about the breakup.

“I’m still putting the pieces together, we were together for a long, long time… there were certain things I wanted in my life. She was a little different.” The frog continued, “I don’t really crave the spotlight in the same way. It was a lot of years of dealing with that.” He went on, “I think we have mutually agreed that this is a good thing, at least I think it is a good thing.”

Kermit added that there's video evidence out there that he is hoping doesn’t see the light of day. “It was a series of events, mostly not public, but a couple things. Like with many celebrities, it happens… you get caught off-guard, somebody has a camera… I’m hoping that video doesn’t surface, frankly.”

The “It’s Not Easy Being Green” singer is already moving on. “Her name is Denise. She’s one of the heads of marketing with ABC. She actually was one of the people who had the idea for this show… we hit it off. I just like pigs.”

He made it clear he is over Miss Piggy. When asked how she feels about his new girlfriend, he said, “I cannot concern myself with such things.” As for how things are going to work with both Kermit and Miss Piggy starring on “The Muppets,” Kermit said there has been some drama since cameras began rolling. “It’s just a matter of how much they want to show.”
