In the TV spot, the much-loved Muppets pull out all the stops to persuade Jonathan Warburton, chairman of the family business, to join them in their latest spectacle: The Giant Crumpet Show.The family favourites will sing and dance their way around a Warburtons bakery to celebrate the new Giant Crumpets, which measure almost twice the size of the company's number one-selling standard crumpets.
The infectious TV ad premieres in a special one-off slot tonight during The X Factor on ITV.
The chairman of Warburtons, and a co-star in his own commercial, said: "Here at Warburtons, we've been perfecting our crumpet recipe since we first launched them over 25 years ago.
"With families up and down the country telling us how much they love them, we knew the only way we could make them better was to make them bigger."
He added: "We're proud to be launching another bakery first, and who better to introduce Giant Crumpets than the Muppets? It certainly wasn't my average working day!"
For 60 years, the Muppets have captivated audiences with their unique blend of heart and humour. Created by the late Jim Henson, and l ed by the world's most famous amphibian, Kermit the Frog, the Muppets have starred in feature films and award-winning television series and specials.
Commenting on The Giant Crumpet Show, Kermit said: "It's the thickest and fluffiest production we've ever done. We held nothing back, and I'm proud to say no Giant Crumpets were harmed during the making of this advert."
Viewers who miss the advert the first time around can head to the Warburtons YouTube channel after the premiere on ITV.
